Are you looking for something fun to do as a family to mix things up during quarantine? Look no further! Here's a fun idea you can whip out any night of the week!
If you've ever gone to a "Paint 'n Sip", you're probably already aware- these things are awesome! Making art (or whatever you call what I make) alongside the people I love has made for some great memories! You could just sit around and watch The Joy of Painting, but why not have a date night and try to paint something yourself instead!
To create your very own Paint 'n Sip from the comfort of your own home, you'll need a couple of things:
Painting/watercolor paper (or card stock if you're just here for a good time)
Water colors
Brushes
Glass of water
Towels (...Because we need this to be family friendly and we all know that water's gettin' spilled!) 😂
A beverage to sip
Start by watching this Watercolor Basics for Beginners video, together as a family, and try some of the ideas! She'll teach you how to create different shades and how to add water or paint to get just the right tints!
Once you've mastered (so to speak) the techniques from the first video, you can try your hand at one of these next tutorials for beginners. Flowers, a dinosaur, or a butterfly! The choice is up to... your whole family!
Option 1: Flowers
Option 2 : Dinosaur
Option 3: Butterfly
Maybe this is totally your jam! If so, check out the Let's Make Art Youtube Channel. They're all about watercolors and have a ton more tutorials to choose from! These videos can get pretty in-depth with their instruction and range from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours!
If you have younger kids, consider checking out the Let's Make Art For Kids Channel. They have some great here stuff as well. Most of these are about 20 minutes- give or take a little.
Have fun and happy painting!
