April 23rd- Jacob & Rachel

This week we'll be reading the story of Jacob and Rachel and continuing to focus on how God keeps His promises because He is faithful!

And here begins our lesson for this week! Don't forget- we're going to be learning and reading about how God kept his promise by giving Isaac and Jacob wives so they could continue their family line and how God chose to use Leah's son Judah to pass on the covenant promise of blessings that would bless the entire world!

Connection to the promise: Nothing could stop God's plan for the family of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Even though Jacob did not love Leah, God loved her and used her in His plan. Through the family of Jacob and Leah's son Judah, God would show His love for the world by sending His son to be the Savior He promised!

If you have a bible at your house, open to Genesis 29-31 and have a parent read it out loud to you! If you don't have one, that's okay! CLICK HERE.

Here are a few questions that we wonder about today's story:

Movement Game:

Everyone in your home should line up in age order, youngest to oldest, Then invite them to complete a variety of tasks in sets of seven. Here are some ideas- jumping jacks, seven squats, clap seven times, hold up seven fingers, and so forth.

CONNECTION: Jacob worked for seven years to marry Rachel, the woman he loved, But Laban tricked Jacob into marrying Leah and Rachel. Jacob did not love Leah, but God DID! God used Lead in His plans to send Jesus. Jesus was the blessing God promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; He blessed the world just like He said He would.
